Charter Public Conveniences Out of Order

Charter Public Conveniences
Somebody took the trouble to write me a letter to say that the public conveniences at the Charter car park in Abingdon are out of order and have been for some time.
Charter Public Conveniences
Essential maintenance work at the multi-storey Charter car park has been ongoing since 3rd March but, the writer says, ‘that effects level 3 and above, not the ground floor.

An issue with the public conveniences was raised on Fix My Street on 28th March 2021. I can see no progress update on fix my street, or the Charter car park website.

The writer says ‘It is rather inconvenient!’

Last drone shot of Kingsgate development. First unit sold.

Kings Gate
This drone shot was taken from Daniel’s last video of the Kingsgate development, filmed two weeks ago. Since then the drone has been lost in the Oxford Canal.
Kings Gate
I did ask Daniel how much a new drone cost and he said ‘too much’.
Kings Gate
I cycled by the Kingsgate development this evening and was surprised how quickly and how green the grass has grown mid summer.

Traffic lights are still in place while the slip lane to the new entrance is laid.

The interactive sales map of the development shows that unit 5 is the first one to be sold. Units 1,2,4,6,7, and 192 are ‘For Sale’. The rest are for the future.

Wellbeing Walks, Plant Sale, Electric Vehicle Roadshow, and Ethelwold’s Feast.

Whats On
Viv Boorman says there is a lot of publicity about the benefits of walking and she wants people to know about the Wellbeing Walks that happen on Mondays in Abingdon. New people would be very welcome.
Whats On
Steve , will not be opening his garden for the second year running. It was a difficult decision but anybody who has been there will know that there are lots of plants but not much open space for people to easily mingle whilst socially distancing. There will however be a plant sale in the front.
Whats On
The County Council’s Park and Charge project are bringing a roadshow of events to Abingdon on 14th August, helping people find out more about electric vehicles (EV) and giving them a chance to test drive one themselves. Attendees will be able to ask questions to EV experts, chat to local EV drivers and check out a range of models. More information at this link.
Whats On
Also I heard that there was an open garden event at St Ethelwold’s House. August 3rd is the feast day of St Ethelwold, and so here is a picture of the house, after the event, on the feast day.
