So much scaffolding was used on the County Hall it is a wonder there is any left for other buildings in Abingdon, but more scaffolding has just appeared round what was once Hathaways on High Street. It is a building that does look in need of repairs.

Arthur Smith EXPOSED was a sell out, and the town’s carparks were full. At the same time in the town the Abingdon Symphony Orchestra were at St Helens Church playing Sibelius, Kindertransport was being performed by Abingdon Drama Club at the Unicorn, and there was a beer festival with music at The Broad Face.

This afternoon at 3pm there is the first of a series of Abbey Chamber Concerts at St Nics Church.

The White Horse left the Guildhall building soon after midday on April 1st.

Shortly afterwards, at 12:30, the keys were handed over by the Chair of the Vale of White Horse District Council to the Mayor of Abingdon. The town of Abingdon now owns the building as it did before local government reorganisation in 1974.
