Earlier in the year I did a report of the tree planting by the River Thames on the opposite bank to the Swift Ditch weir. Daniel has an excellent drone video of the trees, tree removal and replanting. The following are some of his pictures and all rights belong to Daniel.

Birds Bees Butterflies

Spring is here. Some birds are flitting about peacefully.

Some are having to battle to save their nest and eggs. This thrush and magpie kept diving each other with a nest in the tree.

Bumble Bees manage to fly with big bodies and small wings.

Butterflies have much larger wings for their body size. This Comma Butterfly is resting on a path. The Comma was in severe decline in the twentieth century and is making a comeback in the twenty first century. (according to https://butterfly-conservation.org/butterflies/comma)
Two upcoming events

This coming weekend the Abingdon Green Forum will be on the Market Place.

On 9th of April there is an illustrated talk by Martin Buckland on the history of the Wilts and Berks canal. All profits will be going to the DEC Ukraine appeal.
Have I missed anything?
Abingdon Artists’ Spring Exhibition

The Abingdon Artists’ Spring Exhibition 2022 runs from Monday 21st March – Saturday 26th March in St Helen’s Church, West St Helen Street.

The exhibition features up to three works from lots of different Abingdon Artists.

Here for example are three by my wife, who is exhibiting for the first time, next to three Abingdon scenes by Clair Cross, who is very well known.
