Green Gym – Ock Valley Walk

Members of the Green Gym split into three groups. Some did litter picking.

Another group improved the path. Some dug up the surface, and others poured on the wood chip and tamped it down.

The third group cleared the ground to plant trees. There were about 35 small saplings: oak, beech, silver birch, and cherry.

The saplings were then dug in next to a cane and surrounded by a protective guard . A red spot on the cane means this one is a cherry. All were plotted on a map to monitor how they do.

Mummers 2010

Mummers
The Mummers have collected £385.15 over two nights – for the Alzheimer’s Club . They took their mummers play, one evening around the villages and one night around the town.

Well Being Fayre
I would never have got to the Well Being Centre’s Christmas Fayre if it had not been for Dr Les Clyne handing out leaflets in town to remind people it was on.

There are a number of community groups use the Well Being Centre on Audlett Drive, although its main purpose is as a day centre and help centre for elderly people.

When you walk in through the main entrance – round the back where the white social service vans are parked – there is some 2010 artwork by the ceramics group who have a workshop at the centre.
