Today is October 1st, and the theme day for City Daily Photo is orange.

Whenever I walk up West St. Helen Street, in Abingdon, there is a large vinyl print of oranges and lemons in the window of the Co-op. Then at the junction of the High Street is Crumbs Sandwich Bar – painted orange. Spoilt for choice!!!

Family Fun Day at Abingdon Rugby Club

At Abingdon Rugby Club yesterday the clubhouse was full of interesting stalls helping to raise money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance and the Alzheimer’s Society.
There were lots of prizes on the raffle, including a short holiday and a Miele Vacuum.

Over £800 will be split between the charities, and Tara won the guess the weight of cake.
Craft Market – one minute silence

The Craft Market was in town today.

The Town Crier announced a one minute silence for one person who was not there. A poster was left where Tim would have usually been.

We also learned that Sam Prince died on Thursday. The picture shows him at the Make Music Abingdon event in June.
He was the Abingdon music impresario who staged many music events on Abingdon Market Place, and nearby.
