Valentine Crochet and Disco

Valentine’s Day is back on top of the postbox in the Market Place with a clever crochet idea.

On Saturday, the Abingdon Community Support day centre organised a Valentine’s Disco on Audlett Drive. The day centre usually arranges daytime activities for adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health problems and dementia.

A good time was had by all at the disco.

There is more information about the day centre at https://livewell.oxfordshire.gov.uk/Services/3217.

Bench dedicated to ‘Bob Wilson – Showman’

Andy said, ‘they were replacing the bench on the double mini-roundabouts. Didn’t think much of it until I saw it today. Looks pretty special.’

The bench is dedicated to ‘Bob Wilson – Showman – 1932 – 1983’.

Bob Wilson’s Funfairs continue to organise the Abingdon Michaelmas Fair. Bob Wilson was known as the Funfair king and the chairman of the funfair firm Bob Wilson and sons. He died in a tragic car crash in 1983.
