On the Roundabout near Lodge Hill in Abingdon, drivers coming from Oxford are greeted by a floral representation of The Olympic Rings. When that symbol was originally designed, in 1914, those five colours appeared on all the national flags of the world.

Abingdon Marina houses can be seen reflected in this picture across the gravel pit lake. Electricity power lines cross this lake, and so there are warnings not to fish near power lines.

A combine harvester was at work on the far bank of the River Thames, in Cumnor Parish, taking advantage of the heat wave.
There is art on sale this week in an exhibition at St Nicolas Church. Any pictures sold will have part of the proceeds donated towards equipment at Abingdon Hospital.
The pictures are displayed in the pews and are well worth viewing.

Today I saw young cricketers at Abingdon Vale Cricket Club being taught spin bowling under a blue sky, while parts of the outfield still lay under water. There has been a third day of sunshine, but the ground is still waterlogged.
