Street Pastors launch event at Strattons

Street Pastoring into Abingdon
Street Pastors first hit the streets in Brixton in 2003 when some men from a church decided they would not just pray about all the troubles of modern life but get out there and do something. At first the police were worried that the Street Pastors might be some sort of vigilante group like the Guardian Angels, but very soon found them a positive influence, and now there are over 8000 street pastors serving in over 300 towns and cities.

If the people recruited tonight, at the launch event at the Strattons Night Club, complete and pass their training, then Street Pastors could be comimg to the Friday and Saturday Abingdon nightlife within months.

Meetings in sticky carpets! Blimey, whatever next. I see they have not spent any money on new equipment. It looks exactly the same as it did when I last went in there some 15 years ago!!!
