I now have a Choose Abingdon card and have started building up points in some of the town’s shops.
The card is available for £3 from the Community Shop – just moved, or from any participating shop . Find out more on the Choose Abingdon website – also launched today.
Choose Abingdon?!
I have lived here 31 years and only remain because of family and school. I leave Abingdon for work, shopping and entertainment. Why is everywhere else surrounding Abingdon becoming better than here, Didcot, Witney even Wantage is marginly better. We have become the old Didcot, suitable only for charity shops, estate agents and pound shops. We have spent money on changing the one way system and its definately worse, when we could have improved things by putting a south bound slip road on to the A34 in the north and a slip road on to the A34 at Steventon. We have unnecessarily pulled up cobles and relaid them, and couldn’t even remember to put electrics in for the christmas lights and now we are spending out money on a museam and town hall, rather than something we all use, public toilets, entertainment. We have even widened the paths for all the shoppers but shops have been continuing to close ever since. Private ownership on shops cause the rent on shops too be to high and we have NO shops worth visiting, certainly nothing like debenhams or next. No entertainment like cinema or bowling in fact we rejected planning for these to be built up by tesco. The day something gets improved rather than worse is the day my family and I will CHOOSE Abingdon!
I would like a Choose Abingdon Card. How do I get one, please.
