Not so wonderful

Not such a wonderful world
Blackboards say “Beer Garden Open” but it is not open, except when there is Salter Steamer passing by to pick up passengers, or deposit them. Their first impression may not be so wonderful.
Not such a wonderful world
The garden is on an island with the River Thames flowing either side.
Not such a wonderful world
The gardens are growing weeds, and the furniture is looking sad, after the pub closed at the start of the year.

Skies of Blue…

Boats on the River
I see skies of blue and clouds of white, a bright sunny day, boats moored for the night, and I think to myself what a wonderful world.
Boats on the River
Barges going upstream
Boats on the River
smaller boats come down.
Boats on the River
People sat together
Boats on the River
very near to town …

I see trees of green, red houses too …

Ock Street Fire Aftermath

Fire
I was asked, by an electrician, on the way to Trinity this morning whether the hole in the road could have anything to do with the almshouses having lost half their power.
Fire
There was an electrical fire down a manhold cover in Ock Street on Saturday evening. As far as I know electrical supplies had been reconnected by Sunday morning so the electrician probably just needed to reset something. As to the hole in the road, I haven’t seen anybody working on it during Sunday when it was causing holdups to traffic.
