Peter sent me a picture showing a painting attached to the sign of the Drayton Road development.
Somebody has taken issue about those houses. They are not objecting that they are being built against local people’s wishes, but because they will not make housing affordable.
On Bridge Street a lot of the shops got some overnight Friday night street art. It was not Banksy art, and quite rude in places, and so got removed.

Every Saturday, all over Britain, thousands of people take part in Parkrun. Abingdon has its own parkrun held at Rye Meadow and each week around 250 people complete the 5k course, run by volunteers and completely free.
This Saturday, there was a special milestone. Leah ‘the dog’ ran her 100th parkrun (that’s 500 kilometers or 310.6 miles!).
Leah has now not only completed 100 parkruns to date but she has also managed to finish first a total of 18 times and has a personal best of 17:01. In the early days of parkrun, Leah would often go slightly off course to take a dip in the river but has learnt to focus on the task at hand.
Abingdon parkrun is a very social affair and Leah is always the centre of attention at the town square where runners enjoy a post run coffee at Java.

There was a sign near St Helen’s Church trying to stop motorists going towards the Iron Bridge in the wrong direction. Traffic heading from South Abingdon is allowed over the bridge one way. The road is too narrow in two places for anything more.
There are two bridges connecting South Abingdon with the north, and the the other bridge on Drayton Road is closed overnight for resurfacing work. So traffic heading south had to find another way round.
But a lot of cars, going south, were risking going the wrong way over the Iron Bridge. That led to some tooting of horns.
When the police arrived they told several car drivers off for coming over the Iron Bridge the wrong way. They then started turned cars back before they could break the law.
