While ‘Abingdons Got talent’ was on, I went up on the museum roof to try to get some photos. None of them turned out that well, when I put them on the computer, but I did meet up with an interesting artist, on the museum roof, sketching East St Helen Street.
He said the light was good.
Here is one he did back in May of shadows stretching across East St Helen Street. He said the light had been good then too. There is more of his art on jaugar.net.

The Trolleys were previously seen in the River Thames just beneath Margaret Brown Garden, in Abingdon. One ‘was falling to bits‘. The other ‘was still in good nick’ and ‘an easy push‘.
The new installation at the Tesco Carpark in Abingdon is “Margaret Brown’s Folly.”
This is the third year of Abingdons Got Talent. Acts came from far and wide.
The judges this year were:
Steve Rich – Abingdon Town Band
Judy Gray – Head of Performing Arts, Abingdon & Witney College
Councillor Duncan Brown – Mayor of Abingdon
Eileen Bagshawe – Abingdon Drama Club
There were dancers.
This young lad of seven did some break dancing.
Friends came to support friends.
I didn’t see all of the acts but near the end there were two female singers who stood out as very good.
The final in on July 17th.
A new bus shelter has been put in along Marcham Road. It is a good advertising space .
One side features Cornbury Festival.
The other side has a a poster featuring Abingdon Blinds.
This is a joint cycle and footway but it does get very narrow round the top corner. The kerb there is also two or three times the height of a normal kerb.The task was made more difficult because a nearby tree has a preservation order.
