On the Market Place this morning I went to help Duncan Brown, the Mayor, as he raised money for charity. People were throwing wet sponges at him in the stocks and missing a lot of the time.
But when I got to deputise look what happened!!!
Still it turned out alright in the end.

Some time ago Steve Rich, the leader of Abingdon Town Band, wrote to Her Majesty the Queen asking whether Abingdon Town Band could play at Windsor Castle – a venue normally only used by Military Bands.
Her Majesty, through her private secretary, agreed it would be a good thing, and so it came to pass that on Sunday, Abingdon Town Band became the first non military band to play at Windor Castle.

They got a good crowd and they made a good sound at Windsor Castle.
The judges from our regional part of Britain in Bloom, that is Thames and Chiltern in Bloom, came through the town two or three weeks ago and so we await the results.
I for my part went round at about 8:30pm taking a few pictures of the blooms…
