Green bins with pink and green packages were being delivered to a lot of our neighbours. I was interested to find what was in them but didn’t hear a knock and next time I looked the van was gone.
Maybe I’ll never know now.
Two shops opened yesterday in Abingdon. At Fairacres the final unit has been taken by Home Store and More.
A bit of history… Back in May 2010 Mays Properties, who run the retail park, gave up their plans for Aldi to take over the unit. There had been worries of the effect on the town centre, and Mays who are very supportive of the town centre decided not to continue when both town centre businesses and local councils were against. 
Spar also opened on the High Street yesterday. More of them anon when they are settled in and ready to fanfare their arrival.
During the daylight an artist was seen working on a number of charcoal sketches.
When evening arrived a group of lighting engineers took over. Watched by the museum curator, the architect and project team from Ridge and Partners, the lighting engineers tried out various positions under the County Hall …
Nothing too fancy. Just up lights trying to arrive at the best way of showing the museum exterior and undercroft at night.
All part of the impending closure and redevelopment project.
The museum curator apologised that the museum could not play such a big role in Heritage Day this year but the closure is now so close.
This pigeon is in the Margaret Brown Gardens. It is just checking whether to fly away from that human being with the camera or wheel around for more rich pickings.
This pigeon is on the other side of the Thames. It’s a wonder it can fly carrying all that weight.
This pigeon was seen near the River Ock next to a bird that has to hunt and catch its own food.
