2014 – New Years Resolutions – No 1 – Exercise

Exercise
There were not a lot of people in the White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre at 10pm this Friday Evening.

An adult swim costs £3.60. When I started blogging about Abingdon it was £2.80.
Exercise
The young lady at the desk said things will pick up next week when all the classes start.
Exercise
On 11th January they have Act!ve Launch Day – just book at reception for a free trial session. Exercising has come a long way since I started blogging about Abingdon in 2006. You can try:

  • RPM
  • Body Balance
  • CX WORX

  • SH’BAM
  • Body Pump.

Christian Aid Sponsored New Year’s Day Walk

Christian Aid Walk
The Christian Aid Sponsored New Year’s Day Walk started at St Helen’s church at 10am. They walked 6½ miles via Cycle Path 5, Drayton and the Ock Valley Walk. Refreshments were available in St Peter’s Church Room at Drayton for a soggy break.

John sent the pictures and said “If this doesn’t deserve a sponsorship I don’t know what does!”

Boundary Walk Postponed

Boundary Walk
The New Year’s Day Boundary Walk was planned for 11.30am this morning.
Boundary Walk
About twenty people braved the pouring rain, and were gathered at 11:30am. But after some discussion, sanity rather than valor prevailed and it was decided to postpone the official walk.
Boundary Walk
That did not stop small groups of individuals walking round the 1556 Abingdon bounds.
Boundary Walk
Without the Town Crier, and the usual educational commentary, they got round in half the usual time, and then went to dry off.
