The Umbrellas of Abingdon

I have been looking back at umbrella pictures and found lots in June 2012, the month of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Well I was there for every dripping, damp, and soaking wet event during the Abingdon Jubilee Celebrations and it was great!!! The atmosphere in Abingdon was fantastic!!!

i recall agreeing to visit the jubilee proms in the pouring rain with my parents as they promised a firework display. they didn’t mention it would be only a couple of minutes long while i got progressively colder and wetter.
still, it did make for a memorable evening.

Gosh, I had forgotten. It was a dreadful day here in Coventry. Because of the rain, the day will stand out more and judging by your photos everyone is having a great time at the street party, at least.

I must admit to finding ‘sunny’ countries somewhat dull. Rain brings forth brollies, but it brings forth greenery and character.

Brollies are also found in the heat, and with Australians hardly able to breathe as an intense heatwave fastens itself on the country, I know where I prefer to be.
