In case you didn’t make it to the Chamber day you also missed Added Ingredients, Beyond Bubbles, Slade Legal, Cancer Research, BlueDoor Estate Agents, Paul Viney Photography, Dream Doors kitchens and not forgetting the Oxford Saxtet who serenaded us all on a dry, but not very sunny day.

This was a really good day with a wide range of Abingdon’s businesses. I must say a big thankyou to everyone that was there really early to help set up & to everyone that stayed at the end to help pack everything away.

Did any of you catch the news that the “on thames” suffix has been adopted by another town on the river?

Yes, Abingdon on thames now has the company of Staines on Thames in our select band of towns.

I think some of the cachet of the name just got lost.

A bit harsh on Staines David – whilst I don’t think it is on a par with Abongdon it does have done quite attractive bits, mainly down by the river. Unfortunately picked up rather a bad reputation due to Ali G

My apologies to Staines on Thames, and especially the Staines on Thames Massive. Big Up. Booyakasha!

But if Staines is so good why do they need to add the unnecessary “on Thames” to their name?

Extremely harsh on Staines, bordering on offensive

Terrible joke from Kat P, but then, what’s new
