A number of trees have been cut down as part of the start of the work on the cycle path through Abbey Meadow
There is a much clearer view along the Mill Stream now on the one side.
Work is now underway widening and improving the cycle way.

It’s a great shame that so many trees have been cut down for this, many of them unnecessarily so.
I think the walk looks much better and far less overgrown
Much less overgrown, but much worse for wildlife. I approve of the cycle path being improved, but there was no reason at all to cut down trees.
I agree, it’s going to look great…I hope they continue it to Radley lakes….
It would be nice if the cycleway was eventually extended beyond Radley Lakes into the car park of Radley Station and further from there to meet up with the section that ends in Kennington which would then provide a truly traffic free cycle route to Oxford.
