Work continues on the Outdoor Swimming Pool. The sign may say ‘Danger Deep Water’ but the pool area is the one area where there will be no deep water.
A lake has formed on the normally dry land beside the pool but the pool itself has been surrounded by a canopy to keep it dry.

It was easy to see the flood conditions in the Abbey Meadow yesterday to add to those of the river Ock.
What was more heartening was the number of young children enjoying the Adventure playground in the Abbey meadow. Yes it was a little muddy, but the children didn’t seem to notice!
The jury is out on whether the proposed flood bypass channel around Oxford will mean that increased floodwater will hit Abingdon. The Environment Agency say that it will not make any difference but we will have to wait and see. At least Abingdon does have a flood plain still. The land that Tesco is on is a flood plain and the car park gets flooded occasionally.
They would, wouldt they. Tescos car park is the least of our problems.
Does the renovation really cost £1.3 million? I understand labour costs are high but I could build my dream house for less than that. Surely some of this could be spent on more pressing matters around town.
