The first quarter-yearly Local excellence Market was on the Market Place today. It has food, drink, and crafts and is sponsored by Choose Abingdon and the Abingdon Carbon Cutters.
It is good to see a new Saturday Market established.
There were good crowds whenever I went by. People were also attracted into town by the Craft Fair – also on this weekend at the Old Abbey Buildings

Enjoyed the market today – good to see Abingdon busy. Was surprised (but delighted) to see Green’s of Glastonbury at the market…now have some lovely cheese and butter in the fridge.
My daughter very much enjoyed the samples too…
People have been pressing for a Saturday market for a couple of years so well done to the Choose Abingdon Partnership for listening and making it happen. Lets hope that the traders found it worth their while so that it can become a regular feature.
