Where the Cherries amusement arcade once was, a Skinny Hippo is coming… I think they do Crafts and Gifts. Children or anyone over 60 can come in and be creative and make their own card or pot on the premises, while those of an inbetween age browse gifts from around the world.
Somebody is moving into the Charter Barber. No idea what they are to be. Those boxes only contained chairs.
Remade Guitar workshop and sales are about to open at Coxeters. So in a matter of months Abingdon has gone from zero to two guitar shops. You can buy a guitar in one, smash it, and then remake it in the other.
The Gift Centre has nearly completed their move to a few doors further up the shopping centre, and have opened.
The old premises I understand several are going to be knocked into a larger unit. Who IS moving into that larger unit??, Rumours are Tesco Metro, surely not??!!!
I heard it’s Rumbelows or Radio Rentals.
i recall when the precinct had a wigfalls electrical shop.

Tesco metro a spar and 2 co ops thats too many food outlets
What we need is a good department store, John Lewis for example. This would attract people from miles around, giving Abingdon something worth visiting to shop in. I’d be in there on several days of the week when I’m roaming around the town.
cant imagine john lewis would look at abingdon – especially as they are not even in oxford.
i miss selfridges in oxford – wish it was still there.
