Peter says that this Sunday “There will be a charity artisan craft and art fair in Cumnor Village Hall in aid of young people with dementia. There will be a great variety of art and craft gifts not only for Christmas but other occasions as well.” Peter will also be exhibiting more photographs.

Concerning the Nags Head Island, The Nag’s Head is in the Good Beer Guide for the third year running. Having re-furbished and re-opened what was almost a derelict pub, the new management have worked wonders.

Fantastic picture! I went to the Nags Head for a Christmas lunch last Saturday – very impressed with the food, exceeded my expectations. The staff were really friendly and atmosphere was great. Definitely on my ‘go to’ list of pubs/restaurants.

Thanks Elsie, I shall be bringing a larger version and others mostly taken near Abingdon.

The Nags Head is an excellent pub now and a most worthy addition to the Good Beer Guide again, as I’ve said before how do we convince them to work their magic on the Upper Reaches and turn that back into the jewel in Abingdon’s crown that it should be.

Great picture. You can almost imagine that tree as a prancing Nag.Yet another example of a picture which would look good on a Christmas card.

Thanks Geoff, perhaps the island is named after the tree! I did use this image as my Christmas card; it is the other end of the island from the pub.

I really is a super pub these days. I would be intrugued to know who brews the Nags Head Beer? I assume it Loose Cannon but I obviously could be wrong
