I was hoping for some sunny days during February in order to takes some good pictures for the end of Month blog slide show on Youtube. I have done three such slide shows. The one I like best is December 2010 thanks to the snow.

I take a lot of pictures so it is very difficult to choose between them. These two were from the other side of the River Thames. I started noticing the ripples caused by the water funelling through Abingdon Bridge. Even without sunshine it made a good effect.

First time I have seen anybody surfing into Abingdon. He swept himself along with a canoe paddle and paused to take a few pictures of the town.

Then paddled over to St Helen’s Wharf  where he climbed the steps and disappeared from view.

Into February and upstream from Abingdon Weir the water looks so still.

With the sun just above the horizon the River Thames appears like a looking glass. Slowly the water approaches the barrier …

then cascades over at Abingdon Weir.
