Moving a historic wall

I gather from the Vale planning portal that a historic stone wall has been demolished off Bath Street and will be rebuilt in a set back position.

Vehicles will no longer need to drive through Abingdon School to get to Lacies Court, a property that is part of the school. Instead there will be access from Bath Street with a double garage.
Before the wall is rebuilt, the access from Bath street will also allow construction traffic to work on a new three story educational building that is planned.
Grand opening of £1.7million gym extension

The new £1.7million extension to the gym at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre officially opened on Wednesday 1 March 2017
The official opening featured a guest appearance from Wheelchair Tennis Paralympian Louise Hunt, who competed at London 2012 and Rio 2016. Louise was joined for the official ribbon cutting by Cllr Mike Badcock, Chairman of Vale of White Horse District Council, Peter Bundey, Deputy Managing Director at GLL and Cllr Charlotte Dickson, Cabinet Member for Leisure at Vale of White Horse District Council.
To give people an opportunity to try out the extended gym and new equipment, and to celebrate its 15 year anniversary, the White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre is holding a family open weekend on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April, including lots of free events throughout both days. More details about this event will be announced shortly.
A Giant Tumbles

One of the large Wellingtonia trees in the Albert Park was undergoing drastic tree surgery yesterday. Thanks to Ben for the Picture.

Wellingtonia are a familiar tree in Albert Park park, and there are about ten left standing. They are also called Giant Redwood.
