Musical Chairs – but with shops

There has been some swapping around of shop premises as September ends …
Musical Chairs - but with shops
The Natural Health Centre have moved from where they were on St Edmunds Lane.

They have reappeared in Coxeter House, on the ground floor, next to Behind Bars.

Across the way at Coxeter House AAH Printer Solutions have just moved out,

and are currently setting up shop at Lombard Street where Faulkner Photography were.

More shop moves are underway. How will it all end?

And it seems New Look is moving into one of the big units in the precinct (sorry, Abbey Shopping Centre) but that’ll leave another empty shop where is was before. Hey ho.

Zodiac Toyshop which was in the original Precinct in the 80s??, didn’t they go into administration years ago??.

Talking of Coxeters moves who moved into the upper room at the back (Where Results Gym used to be) , was it the Sun Spa-sunbeds, used to have a door always open just below the metal stairs .

Results Gym moved in when “Stickys” Nightclub moved out.= Now Bigger Results with Studio & Spin ‘Cycles’ – no not washing machines 😉

The former mewsagent painted blue opposite the new Wetherspoons will be a William Hill’s betting shop subject to planning approval. Just what Abingdon needs.

I went into the new Cobblers on Stert St and had a chat with the guy. He was a really nice bloke and proper old school cobbler who will re-sole a nice pair of leather shoes. He also collects and delivers and intends to expand and offer knife sharpening, key cutting etc. I’d urge people to give this guy a try as these services are very useful to have on your doorstep. Hoorah – it’s not all doom and gloom!

Hear hear, good to have another non-chain shop in the town. I am off to see him to get some bespoke repairs done to shoes.
But we need to support these new businesses if they are to survive.

Thanks Rachel, I wish him success. I just glanced at his web site and the camera on his masthead looks inverted!

Why can’t we get a decent, reasonably-priced household goods shop like Wilkinson’s? That’s what Abingdon needs.

I agree with Michael that a Wilkinsons would be good.

@Peter Del – I chatted to Paul Viney when he was in the Market Place a few weekends ago promoting his business. He said that it wasn’t worth paying the costs of a shopfront anymore when most of his business is now doing weddings and corporate events etc. The trade there used to be for the shop just isn’t there any more.

Also, not positive if this really is associated, but because this really is the lymphoma class, I figured I would include it. Many times my stomach feels hard relatively tender (region in regards to the dimension of the ping pong ball) just below the ribcage to the appropriate of my sternum. I have had my gallbladder and liver checked, and all exams came again standard.
