One of Abingdon’s well known traditional shops, Hathaways, closed about five years ago. The building underwent a rebuild last year.
It is finally about to re-open as the OX14… Deli. There were people in there tonight getting the shop ready.

This is great news and good luck to the new owners. We will certainly try and support and new business.
That is good news, nice to see the shops in use. I will also support it.

Good to see the shop back in use and wish the owners well- but hope that Added Ingredients trade isn`t adversely affected – that`s a business that, like Mostly Books, has worked really hard to keep an independent shop afloat in hard times with enthusiasm, flexibility and sheer hard work.
Lovely to see it open after years of being closed- however the name ‘OX14 deli’ sounds like someome graffitied there post code for status. Hope they come up with a nicer name and better painted. Good luck to them tho.
We are glad to see another new independent shop on the same street as us . We wish the new owners the very best and can not wait to try .
Good luck to them.
I hope the town gets behind another independent business
use it or lose it!
Our town supports 2 independent bookshops and I hope that 2 delis will encourage the more discerning foodies here! Good luck!
Good luck to OX 14 deli. I went in on the first day of trading and bought some really interesting jam and a few other items. It looks great, and lovely people. I don’t think it will adversely affect ‘Added Ingredients’ (another lovely shop where I shop regularly). From what I could see, it is a different range of goods. Come on Abingdon, support this new and interesting venture.
The Deli is excellent, really lovely smoked meats, recently read its owned by Kitsens…
