During the summer I could not walk to the field beyond Overmead in South Abingdon because of tangled vegetation.
Today I could and a deer stood there gazing at us before bounding away into the cover.
People living on Overmead probably see deer all the time but it made my day.

On an unrelated topic I hope you are going to post something about the unholy mess the contractors have made of the Ock Valley Walk – it looks like the Some down there.
Alas we shall not see much wildlife when the new housing estate goes up – Plans just submitted to Vale for 160 dwellings reference P12/V2266/FUL
A fox was running along Preston Rd and then down Baker Rd one morning last week.
See deer most of the year in field behind virginia way. I also feed badgers every night. Not for much longer if the planning application goes ahead. Please oppose this application.
yes I do have pictures of the unholy mess and will do tomorrow but Spike mentioned the plans are out for the field in South Abingdon so had to do that first
Please will people go to VWHDC website to oppose the new houses? It will only take a few minutes to put your views across, I have just sent my comments.
There are no new primary schools to accommodate the already over populated Abingdon and we are struggling with a poor infrastructure. Drayton Road is a misery and something has to be done to halt these plans.
