Water has been flowing at the bottom end of Stert Street for a couple of days now – not caused by rain but a leak. Beyond it I see that Coffee Republic has changed to become Java & Co.
I Googled “Java Abingdon” to find more details but only came up with Java Developer Job opportunities in Abingdon.
The Java programming language runs so many computer applications nowadays, but took its name from a slang term for coffee.
Coffee will still be served at Java & Co.
I was chatting to the staff, the owner ran the Coffee republic franchise in abingdon, maidenhead and I believe some others. He left it and has started his own chain.
I think the new beans are heavy in caffeine – a normal coffee makes me BUZZ now
The Coffee Republic in Oxford, just opposite the George Street cinema had also changed to a Java & Co a few weeks ago.
The water has been leaking for at least a week now, good job we haven’t got a drought!
