Jubilee Prom in the Park – Video of Land of Hope and Glory with Fireworks Finale

2,500 tickets were sold, and many more could have been sold, but after two drenchings at the Street party and the Bun Throwing, not everybody braved the final event. So here is a video of the finale. There were some very good bands, and a Last Night of the Proms Singalong led by Abingdon Town band and The Abingdon Operatic Society culminating in the fireworks and music shown in the video (apologies for sound quality at times).

Had a fantastic night. The supporting acts were really good and got everyone rocking. My coat is still drying out (heavy duty Canadian Ski Gear at that!!!). The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm – great spirit.!!

May have been more there at the Prom if the security men at the bun throwing hadn’t been telling people it was cancelled. Very annoyed as, being soaked already, I would have stayed.

Thanks for sharing the photo of the Virginia delegation. Looks like our folks are having a good time and we wish we were there with them. Come see us in Virginia! Give our best to the Queen!

On behalf of Spyrotechnics it was a pleasure to provide the firework displays on both evenings for Abingdon town. We hope you enjoyed the displays. Well done for all the hard work that went into a great weekend for all.

Karl, the firework displays were fantastic. I was there but friends tell me that they could see them from their houses.
