Witnesses tell me that there was a roller helping lay tarmac over a hole last night and overnight it just opened up.
Looking down the hole, all that can be seen is darkness without end.

About 15 years ago i worked with a guy in his 60s who claimed that in his youth he often used to wander through underground tunnels in abingdon that were later bricked up following safety concerns – i often wondered how true it is.
