All four Home Store & More stores are to close – including the one at the Fairacres Retail park in Abingdon – which opened in September 2010.
Home Store & More was, I understand, an Argos trial venture which did not become profitable in what is a difficult time for any startup. Sad news for the people who worked there. They sold bedding, towels and household goods – similar types of goods to those on offer in Beales (Comfortmaker) two doors away.
Not surprised they’ve gone under. All they sold was tat of similar vein to a poundshop and it was like the Mary Celeste in there. Hopefully they can find a better quality tenant to replace them.
I disagree, it was nothing like Poundland. Lots of good brands in there, helpful staff. I’ll be sad to see it go
Real shame, found they had a good selection of quality homewares (unlike the tat in Poundland etc) at a reasonable price.
When we needed a blackout blind for our daughters room they were cheaper than Homebase/B&Q/Confortmaker etc…..
