The River Ock Today

There is an ‘Ock Valley Walk’ information board at both ends of the walk, since the recent addition of this board at the Drayton Road end.

The river is riding high.

Here is the confluence of the two streams, close to where they merge into the River Thames.

Geography a bit wrong here! – on the left is the mill stream; on the right is the Ock proper! The 2 branches are divided near Tescos. The Sandford brook is a minor player, but contributes to both streams here. In the distance is the disused St. Helen's wharf bridge. Ea recommended demolishing it to give a bit of flood relief to Cygnet Court, Durbeville close, etc. on the right bank!
