In the puppet theatre tent were two Muppet style puppets …
Muppet 1: I’m counting my money. I don’t think I have enough money to go to church this Sunday.
Muppet 2: What do you mean?
Muppet 1: How much does Pente cost?
Muppet 2: Pentecost is not something you can buy!
The Church in Abingdon were out on the Market Place celebrating what they call the birthday of the church – which happened on the Jewish feast of Pentecost.
And so they made a party out of it with cake, games, face painting, and muppets. Tomorrow some churches will be celebrating pentecost, others I am told celebrate pentecost all the time so don’t need a particular Sunday.
Worth mentioning that penta didn’t cost anything on the marketplace. All the activities were free. We had dozens of kids on the bouncy castle, and gave away tons of cake.
Book the date for next year. Day before Pentecost Sunday – I am sure we will be there.
