The road to St Helen’s Wharf is closed again, and this time, there’s a cage surrounding the work area. Unlike the emergency gas repair last week this closure has come with prior notice. Thames Water expect to be finished by 14th March.
Trade appeared slower than usual at the Monday Market, with some of the stall holders packing up early. It’s not clear whether this was due to the road closure or the damp weather.
Here’s a peaceful St Helen’s Wharf – free of traffic.
A point about the market: the fishmonger comes from Grimsby and if the cyanide from the boat crash near there has leaked into the sea all the fish will die. Let’s hope he hasn’t been affected too badly.
Just heard that there wasn’t any cyanide after all (that’s news reporting for you!) but the oil may still have done damage.

There is no need to block the road , the small hole in road is only on one side , and it only has traffic one way, nobody doing anything there today .But saw up by church a gas worker with mastic sealing cracks in path
