The Abingdon Artists Autumn Exhibition is on this week (29 October – 2 November 2024) at Christ Church barn on Northcourt Road.

The Abingdon Artists’ 2024 programme includes two exhibitions, outings,  Tuesday afternoon art group, Friday quick on the draw in Abingdon town centre, and a series of talks.

Clare Cross was demonstrating painting watercolours onto wet paper which causes the paint to blot and run and create effects. Clare is often on hand at the Tuesday afternoon art group to give advice to others on drawing and painting.

There is a raffle to win a painting donated by Richard Stoven, depicting the coast on Ireland’s wild Atlantic Way, painted in acrylics, mostly cobalt blue and burnt umber, with some transparent yellow and vermillion. Other blues are layered in the sea.

There are also many paintings and cards for sale by lots or artists.
