About 30 people took part in a big community litter pick in South Abingdon today. This picture was taken at the lunch break showing a group of lads who got involved in the project thanks to the Abingdon Bridge youth centre – whose leader is in red behind.
PCSO Chris Cochlane organised the litter pick, and beside him is Neil and Linda Boston – who have been married 32 years today. Neil arranged for a team of Community Payback people to be involved and they did much of Saxton Road and Reynolds Way.
Ray Ball who runs the Vineyard Church and the Friday South Abingdon youth club was also there. The area looks spick and span now.
Congrats on 32 years… hope the rest are litter-free. Great community story.
Never let anyone stop you from imagining a clean environment.
Health is a result of environmental signals to your DNA.
Every time you make a good choice against litter, positive chemical reactions happen instantly in your body & brain that make you more
healthy and alive.
In other words… Picking Up Litter = Free Drugs created by your brain.
Future generations will not tolerate litter.

Bravo! Thanks for your effort to ‘Keep Britain Tidy’.
Well done everyone on the South Abingdon Litter pick-up.
Well Done, but I as an long term unemployed Gardener,
pull a trolley around from Audlett Drive end of Town through town next to Pitch&Putt and Out side Swiming pool and into town through Waitrose Car park and Home. Litter picking as I go and filling 1-4 bags of rubbish a week plus topping up my own Green bin at home with recycling rubbish.
I have been doing this for two to three years now alone!!

I have also cleaned up edges of carparks like the one next
door to Waitrose Carpark in Abiingdon. Picking up upto
7 bags from one side after which someone else then removed or should I say trimmed butterfliy bush from wall
of same Carpark.
