The across-street and lamppost lights in the town centre have changed this year.
Previously they were a mix of colours; the new ones are bluey white and more energy efficient.
The candle lights around the Market Place and curtain lights inside the museum remain unchanged. They are all organised by the town council out of council taxes.
The Bury Street lights are provided by the Bury Street Shopping Centre.
I must admit I think the White lights are more striking and effective
I don’t mind orangey white lights, but I always find the bright white lights at Christmas make everything feel cold. Very wintery. I know it is winter, but the lights should make you feel warm and fuzzy.
Love the new lights and the whole display is impressive. Better than most towns around, including Oxford. Well done Abingdon Town Council, including for making them more cost effective.
