Raffle tickets are on sale in Abingdon to give people the chance to “Be a Bun Thrower” at the royal wedding.
Just imagine the thrill of being right up there and throwing buns for Will and Kate.
Alternatively, for the same good cause, and one where you can keep you feet firmly on the ground, is this Friday at the Miele Centre at Fairacres …
“Good Living Tickets are on sale in Added Ingredients, Fabulous Flowers, Frends the Jewellers and The Shoe Shop of Abingdon. Only £5 and Choose Abingdon cardholders get a free ticket to bring a guest. Take a friend out and have fun sampling fine foods, wines and high quality local products this Friday evening at Miele. (4th March). Profits go to the Museum Appeal.”
This bun throwing event will no doubt be entertaining with a long historical tradition and be covered by local and national media. If only the Vale showed as much enthusiasm for other areas of Abingdon; I thinking of the proposed revamp of shops in the precinct, much talked about but never seems any nearer.
odd. I was told by a number of town councillors that it was “absolutely impossible” for anyone other than a town councillor to take part in the bun throwing. Seems this is not the case.
