Platinum Meadow Jubilee Festival to start one day late (on Thursday) but it will be free.

Preparations are going ahead for the Meadow Jubilee Festival. Today, the grass was cut.

Last Friday, there were a group of people with campervans on the land.

By Sunday, they had gone, and a dozen red kites swooped around the area.

Today the grass was cut, and a marquee was being erected.

Looking at the town council website, ‘ The planned concert on Wednesday had to be cancelled as the site could not be prepared in time due to travellers having taken up residence the week before.’

Events will be free to anybody attending. Anybody who has bought a ticket can get a refund. More details at https://www.abingdon.gov.uk/platinum-jubilee-2022.

the bands in the marquee are being promoted by the skittle ally organisation and is seperate from the council shambles, as is said below oxford/abingdon area, not specifically abingdon, it should be a celebration of abingdon jubilee, at least the skittle ally are on some of the right track

A lot of local people who care about the community have put – and will be putting – a lot of work into this. Hopefully you have too, in which case you will understand how dispiriting it is to see negative carping before it has even happened.
Let’s see how it goes – hopefully there will be many many people out there enjoying themselves. With the alternative event on the airfield there should be something for everyone.

There are local Abingdon / Oxford area bands playing. There are two stages, a main stage and a marquee stage.

On Thursday, Skittle Alley is running the marquee stage with lots of local bands including Mark Bosley, Super Loose, BMW, Captain Cuppa, Doug Graves, Catgod, Beard of Destiny, Osprey OX4 all stars

On Friday there are 3 Abingdon performances between 5pm until 8pm: Ben Heaney, Daisy Chain, Rodney Quakes

Many of the bands on the main stage are also local to the Oxford/Abingdon area including Factory Lights, Mighty Redox, etc…

The Old Anchor pub also has local bands on Friday from 3pm until late.

It’s the so-called travellers leaving their filth everywhere we should complain about. These people live on the land and move about on it but have no respect for it. What sort of people are they?

Lots of people have no respect for the land. We don’t seem to complain about them?

      Who should we complain to?
