We saw a horrifit video on BBC news showing a Russian tank deliberately swerving to run over a defencless civilian car with someone inside it. It shows the lie that the Russians are there to defend Ukranian citizens. I feel very sorry for the Ukranian people.
Surely, we are all concerned with trying to stop this disastrous war. One sanction is to deprive Russia of financial oxygen. After the murder of Alexander Litvinenko in London and the novichok attack in Salisbury, our government wrung its hands and spoke of its deep concern and anger. In the event, Mr Putin was able to ignore this as waffle and is now gambling that we will do nothing but puff and bluster.
Ms Moran has named 35 very wealthy and powerful Russians who have used the UK to secure their wealth and power – and in so doing have contributed to the desperate state of the property market in London and further afield. Identifying those who are appear to be part of Putin’s entourage means that HMG now has to deal with the situation here in the UK and in concert with other nations in the West.
What has Ms Moran to do with the war in the Ukraine? She is an MP and the deputy leader of her party. Silence is not an option. Unless we think that foreign policy has nothing to do with us, then she has everything to do with it. And so do we all.
