Reynolds Way changes

The footpaths around Reynolds Way, and a lot of the roads in Caldecott, have been given a fresh coat of tarmac and the grass and weeds have been cut back.

Some of the shop shutters have blown down, and others are damaged.

The garages and the wall with the art murals has been demolished.

Yes Peter and we all know why this happened. South Abingdon really misses the post office that had been there for over 40 years and served the elderly and disabled who could not get to town.

Maybe then you should complain to the owner of the Reynolds Supermarket who I gather is responsible for all the empty shops, rather than Vale Council that you have blamed in the past.

Well I hope the pavements fair better than they did on Tithe Farm when they were re-tarmacced over a year ago. It’s a wet slurry that’s put down and little cut back was done resulting in plants and bushes being slurried into the pavements. When these plants were cut back, huge gaps were then revealed where the slurry hadn’t covered paths plus lots of lumps, bumps and ruts everywhere. The slurry has a short shelf life of around 5 years and already it’s lifting and wearing away in parts with weeds growing through.
