St Ethelwold’s House Garden bedded down for winter

The garden at St Ethelwold’s House is now ready for the winter. The annuals and leaves have been tidied and a lot are now on the compost heap. There are still a few flowers and vegetables.

The perennials are dormant.  Nutrients and carbohydrates are down in their roots to keep them going during the winter months and to help them regrow next spring.

Some evergreen  cuttings are available for people to use for their Christmas decorations with a box for donations.

The front door has a wreath.

Lovely update on a beautiful garden, what a fab idea the evergreens are too.

Speaking of, I have an arboreal friend whom I wanted to wish a treely happy birthday- you are a treemendous friend, some would say you are out of this world but I remind them that you are in fact just a fab terres-tree-al organism. Spruce up, treet yourself and go party, then later go have a nap (for rest) . Sorry if my puns are a bit mains-tree-m, but I know you appreciate acorn-y joke.

Happy birthday Howard Moon!! ps look in your garden, there might be a bouncy castle
