Along South Quay in Abingdon the brambles have been replaced by wild flowers.
There are blue cornflowers next to red poppies,
mauve mallows in white clouds,
yellow and green.
Somebody must have cleared the verge and bombed the area with wild flowers to create this explosion.
Thanks so much for the lovely photos and comments. A group of us on South Quay decided to do something about the brambles, raised funds from a majority of residents to pay for an initial clearance and then put some hard labour into digging! We planted wild flower seeds last autumn and are delighted with the results. It’s an ongoing challenge with the bramble re growth and now hogweed!
Love it!
This needs to happen more often in the area.
Well done Kate!
Congratulation Kate (the link to your website doesn’t work).
