It was Halloween today and a local shop have a closing down sale. Abingdon Sports supply a wide variety of sportswear and equipment. The staff also have a lot of experience. Abingdon Sports were previously known as Touchwood Sports, and have been in Abingdon since the 1960s, first in the Vineyard, and then in the High Street since the 1970s.
I saw with some regret that Abingdon Sports was closing when I was in town today. One of the better local stores in Abingdon. The owner is retiring and doesn’t want to extend the lease during the current climate, which I entirely understand. But it will leave another hole in Abingdon’s high street, not easily filled. And a sad loss.
I agree Chris Lee, however, I always thought that that premises would make a good Turkish barbers?

Very sad to see this store closing. Another independent taken out of the market, to the advantage of the big chains and Amazon.
As Daniel says, another Turkish barber is probably preparing to move in. What is it with Turkish barbers? Why not German or Australian barbers?
I think we should be told.
