In Kelly’s directory of 1931 Masons is listed at 39 Stert St. The owners are given as Mrs E Webb and Miss G Law. The business is described as ‘baby linen warehouse
In Hooke’s Almanack of 1914 for Abingdon, a Mrs L. Mason is listed at 39 Stert St.
Unfortunately no adverts for Mason’s in either directory.

The 1911 census for 39 Stert St, records the Head of household a Laura Mason, a widow aged 60, born in Peckham in Surrey. Her occupation is ‘Shopkeeper, baby linen &’
Laura is a widow before 1891 as in that years census she is recorded as being at 39 Stert St, with the occupation of ‘Baby linen and Fancy shop’.
Laura Mason moved to Abingdon between 1881 and 1891.
