It is good to have a new ice cream parlour in Abingdon. Igloo Deserts and YourBurger share the same premises on Bath Street. The Ice Cream parlour is new this summer. YourBurger has been there for longer.
It is over the road from Masons who have been busy selling the components for DIY face coverings this summer.
A charity shop in Wantage (Abingdon’s closest neighbour town in the Vale of White Horse) has taken face covering to a new level.
Good to see some interesting independents in the town. Good luck!
I see that the greatest road planning minds that the County council has available….are unavailable, hence why the double roundabout at Ock street/Drayton road is to be closed for three days.
Are they doing this when the traffic is at its lowest, over the summer? Don’t be daft….they have waited until the schools are back and the traffic is likely to be at its maximum before closing a main arterial road for 3 days.
And to think….these are the people we hope to deliver things like ‘strategic housing plans’.
It’s almost funny….
Has councillor Nimmo Smith reappeared then?
Not all the schools are back, or at least not fully back on 3rd September, but it does seem an odd time to do the work. Also the signs are very confusing as it’s not clear which road is closed. Also they say they are closed during the day, but local residents have been told it’s night time.
I guess this is the levelof competence we are accustomed to.
Thank goodness these same people are to be relied upon when it comes to: infrastructure, housing developments, planning, the town centre….etc etc…
Reassuring, isn’t it. We are indeed in safe hands…
Don’t be so negative, Daniel, it’s good to see that England is World Beating at something, even if it’s incompetence.
Signs have been changed to show the closures are at night, but still not clear which roads are shut.
