Thursday 5 pm to 8 pm is a late shopping night on Stert Street and some other independent shops.
Then Saturday is Small Business Saturday – with civic car parks free. There is also a Christmas Craft Market all day Saturday.
Free parking also happens on 14th and 21st December – to encourage us to do some Christmas Shopping in the Town Centre.
Abingdon Beer Festival returns to the Abbey Buildings on Friday and Saturday.
Also on Saturday 7th December Abingdon Town Band have their Christmas Concert.
Then on Sunday, Fourhorsemen events told me ‘We’ll have many stalls selling many different items and a kitchen offering a variety of different foods.‘ Looking at their facebook page they try to attract stalls selling antiques, collectibles, and crafts.
With Christmas on its way, one could easily forget there is a general election. The result will be announced on Friday 13th.
‘With Christmas on its way, one could easily forget there is a general election’ … not so easily, unfortunately.
…I am finding it easy. ????
I’d rather shop on Amazon, means I get what I want, when I want it, and don’t have to navigate round idiots and drunks in Abingdon. Seems to be a big problem in Abingdon… all the drunk people out there… something needs to be done about it, it seems people just can’t escape their habits!
yes carry on supporting amazon who pay little tax to the economy and let local small businesses in abingdon go bust, dont see many drunks around during the day and definately not in the morning so carry on thinking about you, you, you…
There’s an easy way to bring footfall back to the town… but no one dares commit to it. Until then the supermarkets (its them more than ‘amazon’) will continue to decimate the highstreet.
would be interested to know your views regards footfall, dont mention bids please, they cost businesses so much money and grief, thank god there gone
Unfortunately other people far more interesting than me, a lot less tedious, and generally nicer (but still eager to stifle other people’s views in a passive aggressive way) wouldn’t like to read it….so I’m afraid I will have to withhold my view as I wouldn’t want to upset them further.
Plus, Abingdon is perfect in practically every way, so there are no improvements to make.
