Ma Bessie and her band all the way from Reading
and Lisa Mills from the south of the USA were performing at the lecture theatre at Cosenors House on Sunday Evening.
The event was put on by Sam of Barnstormers. The venue was not the best for such a concert. The Unicorn Theatre would have been better but was probably pre-booked when he could get Ma Bessie and Lisa. Both acts were amazing. Ma Bessie was so warm, and Lisa Mills so passionate. Thankyou to Sam for hosting the event.
If only Abingdon had a venue for events like this – bigger than the Unicorn, and not a lecture theatre.
Off topic, but is this The Vale trying to rush through another unpopular decision before the voters have an opportunity to react?

Back to the original topic, it might be worth music event organisers talking to the Regal Cinema people about using the Abbey Hall once they get in there (hopefully soon): they are very amenable to hosting live events as well as cinema.
Back to the wine bar subject, I think it’s a grand idea… I know a few women in Abingdon who would absolutely love a wine bar in Abingdon! To them it would be magical! Me, well it’s not to my taste, however a few jobs will be created, and the space may actually get used and attract more business. Kfc maybe?
