The Abingdon ‘Runaway Fair’ was held today in the Market Place and along the High Street.
Remnants of last week’s Michaelmas Fair returned for one day: children’s rides, fun houses, and stalls. The pictures are after the fair was set up – on a warm clear sunny Sunday.
Monday was a strange day, warm, with a yellow tinge to the clouds, and the wind growing. The news reported that sand has been blown from the Sahara by storm Ophelia.
Is it me, or does the traffic flow better when this is on?
I may have had a pleasant journey through town, at the traffic expense elsewhere; but it did seem far better at 5pm on a Monday afternoon than normal….
Did I miss vast queues elsewhere?
