10 years ago there was a flood in Abingdon – described by the Environment Agency as a 1 in 200 year event. Heavy rain on the clay soils of the River Ock catchment led – within about 36 hours – to many houses in Abingdon being flooded.

Apologies for highjacking this thread but I’ve just been told the Peachcroft community centre is closing because the landlord, Radley College? Has imposed a Huge rent rise!
Any one have any thoughts or info?
Captain K – not quite, it’s just the Social Club is closing (due to a downturn in custom). As far as I know the Community Centre will continue to operate, including the Pre-School that uses it.
